The TalkingPoints Universal Family Engagement platform was featured in the new, free online resource of evidence-based programs that strengthen family-school partnerships and improve student outcomes.

San Francisco, CA – TalkingPoints, the education nonprofit and creator of the leading Universal Family Engagement solution, is pleased to announce our platform’s inclusion in the newly launched Family Engagement Solutions resource from National PTA and Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Research and Reform in Education (CRRE), producer of the Evidence for ESSA project. This free online resource is designed to help educators and school leaders discover evidence-based programs that support family-school partnerships and improve student outcomes.

Family Engagement Solutions offers a hub for educators, district leaders, and advocates to discover evidence-based solutions for engaging with families to drive positive student outcomes. Featured solutions meet or exceed federal standards for demonstrating promising or Tier 3 impact on student success.

Backed by rigorous research, TalkingPoints’ Universal Family Engagement platform has demonstrated statistically significant improvements in student academic performance and attendance in a large urban school district. Overall absenteeism rates decreased by 15% for district schools using TalkingPoints compared to those not using TalkingPoints, while state standardized math test score gains equated to 7 months of additional learning for the average student. The TalkingPoints platform combines embedded best practices, scaled family engagement tools backed by industry-leading translation, and data-informed guidance to positively impact student outcomes and build the partnership capacity of both staff and families.

“Being included in this important initiative underscores our commitment to driving student outcomes by fostering effective partnerships between families and schools,” said Heejae Lim, CEO and Founder of TalkingPoints. “We believe that family-school partnerships are a powerful–if not yet fully utilized–resource schools and districts can tap into to deliver better outcomes for students and support systemic improvement.”

The Family Engagement Solutions resource equips school and district leaders with actionable strategies and tools to foster stronger partnerships with families to support student success. By integrating TalkingPoints’ innovative technology, schools can create collaborative environments where families are engaged and informed, staff is supported and empowered, and, as a result, outcomes improve for students.
