Jennifer McCray

Jennifer McCray is an Associate Research Professor at Erikson Institute in Chicago. She is a former preschool teacher and for the last 18 years has run the Early Math Collaborative, a program that provides professional development, conducts research, and shares information about how to teach early math. She provides expert consultation to the Center for Family Math and is currently working with a team under a National Science Foundation grant to develop Math Partners, a program to support family teacher partnerships around math in preschool classrooms. Jennifer is the first author of Growing Math Minds, published by Routledge in 2018, and the recently published Teaching Math to Young Children Toolkit (McCray, et al., 2026), a comprehensive professional learning resource for early childhood teachers commissioned by the Institute of Education Sciences.
